Prep Time 30 minutes mins
Course Breakfast
Cuisine American
- 1 lb ripe strawberries stems removed and chopped if the berries are large
- 1 tbsp honey optional
- 2 tbsp chia seeds (AIP REINTRO)
- 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice optional
- 2 tbsp fresh basil chopped
Place berries in a saucepan over medium-low heat to break them down (the time will vary based on berry size/type but approximately 5-10 minutes).
As the berries soften and juices release, use a wooden spoon to help break up the berries a bit more
Next, add in the chopped basil leaves
Add in lemon juice and sweetener, if using
Add in the chia seeds and stir to combine
Transfer to a jar or storage container then place in the fridge
You can store this jam in the refrigerator for approximately 1-2 weeks. Keep in mind, it is not preserved like regular jam so it won't last as long. You can also put it in the freezer and thaw to enjoy at a later time! Keyword gluten free, Paleo
